What Are the Top Investor Conferences for Public U.S. Biotechs?

While the financial calendar is bursting with events that claim/aim to put biotechs in touch with potential or existing investors, there is a core list of investor conferences public biotechs should consider for their IR program, and we present them here.

Excluded from the calendar below are the boondoggles (generally ski trips and wine tastings) that biotech CEOs/CFOs and investors could attend to mingle alongside one another. Also omitted are smaller, less established events, and one-day events that focus on a specific subsector of biotechnology (e.g., CNS, oncology, etc.) and that are not always held annually.

Note that the conferences listed below may or may not have a separate track for private companies – this list is meant as a guide for NASDAQ- or NYSE-listed biotechs.

In terms of identifying trends, I would argue based on my experience that the number of healthcare investor events being held virtually has increased post the COVID-19 pandemic, and furthermore, that an increased number of events are being held in Florida as of late, corresponding to the gradual migration of capital and institutional investors to the state.

Note also that each of these conferences is by invitation only and that to be invited you typically need an existing relationship with the bank’s analysts or bankers.

Instances where conferences follow predictable patterns relative to public holidays (like the J.P. Morgan Annual Healthcare Conference relative to MLK day) are stated below. Otherwise, conferences are presented in anticipated chronological order.

Finally note that, per our blog of January 29, 2025, How Many Healthcare Conferences Should a Biotech Attend Each Year, a biotech should only be targeting 8-10 healthcare conferences each calendar year, depending on a biotech’s size and maturity.
